The Borussia Dortmund defender is not heading to the Emirates Stadium despite recent rumours, according to the Serbian International’s agent, Stephen Kelly. The Daily Mail had claimed that a move for Neven Subotic was on as the Gunners look for a replacement to Kolo Toure and also to cover Senderos’ potential departure but this has been denied by the 6ft 4in defender’s representative this morning. Talking to SkySports, Kelly had this to say:
“There is nothing in the reports linking Neven with Arsenal. I don’t know where this has all come from.
“He only recently signed a new five-year deal at Dortmund and it would take big money for any move to happen. I have had no contact with Arsenal. I have spoken to Dortmund and they have told me that they have had no contact with Arsenal whatsoever.”
The Daily Mail are also reporting that long term Gunners target Marouane Chamakh is no longer wanted by Arsenal after they refused to budge from the £6m valuation of the striker. Instead the newspaper are reporting that West Ham and Fulham now lead the race for the Moroccan with Roy Hodgson possibly willing to include Diomansy Kamara in their bid. We shall have to wait and see whether they are any more accurate in their reporting of this rumour.
